Libreville, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 (Gabon News) – King’s Bay is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to create a green and inclusive African city for future generations. This sustainable urban development project is being developed by Champ Triomphe Maritime Façade (FMCI), a subsidiary of the Gabon Strategic Investment Fund (FGIS).
The site includes residential and commercial areas of a tourist resort and a service area, and has been developed, an EDGE-certified sustainable building, a wastewater treatment plant and a waste interception network. The project has more than ten construction sites, five buildings under construction, fifty small and medium-sized enterprises and about eight hundred workers from different units.
The King’s Bay Special Industrial Zone offers numerous advantages to local and international investors, such as tax incentives and flexibility in administrative procedures. These advantages are specifically targeted at companies located in the King’s Bay area or wishing to develop new economic activities in the area and it must be emphasized that they provide a favorable framework for investors to implement economic initiatives in the area and contribute positively to the business environment in Gabon.
In terms of financing, the main model is self-financing of subdivisions. The sale of plots of land by ZIS Development and Management Company can provide funds for the necessary infrastructure and development.
King’s Bay was granted ZIS status, established by Decree No. 0228/PR/MEP of May 28, 2024.
