According to a statement issued by the Uzbek Presidential Office, President Mirziyoyev met with Defense Minister Yashar Gül, who was visiting Uzbekistan.
The statement said Güler conveyed President Erdogan’s greetings and good wishes to Mirziyoyev.
During Mirziyoyev’s visit to the capital Ankara from June 5 to 6, relevant areas of deepening the large-scale strategic alliance between Uzbekistan and Turkey were also discussed within the framework of the agreements reached.
Issues related to developing close relations between ministries, organizing joint activities, training of military specialists and developing military and military-technical cooperation, as well as other areas, were analyzed.
The meeting also discussed the situation in Afghanistan, ensuring regional peace and stability, security issues, and strengthening cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism.
