The results I achieved in training did not bode well for the 1500m race in Sents, but since they probably wouldn’t organize the longest pool distance race this year, I had to go anyway. My only chance was to rest for two days before that, which I did. In the race, I swam with my usual long arm stride and powerful legs, and after 800m I still felt like I was slowing down, and in the end I was happy that I finally made it to the finish line. That’s why it was a big surprise that I finished third in my age group with the best time in the race (23:48.77). Of course, a few days later, the training swim was just as bad as before. Form time?
