The former president of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Werner Heuer, is under investigation for corruption by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), his lawyer confirmed to the German news agency dpa. According to the EPPO’s announcement, the agency is investigating cases of corruption, abuse of influence and “embezzlement”.
