The Macau Health Bureau (SSM) has released the latest data on a number of diseases in the region, highlighting a significant increase in the number of influenza cases. In May alone, 2,547 influenza cases were recorded, an increase of 1,190 cases compared to May last year, a monthly increase of 31.6%.
973 cases of enterovirus infection were also recorded, a threefold increase year-on-year and a twofold increase month-on-month. Also noteworthy were cases of tuberculosis, with 31 cases in May, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%. Three cases of HIV infection were also recorded, as well as one case of progression to AIDS. In total, SSM recorded 3,970 cases of the disease in May, according to China TDM.
