The Panevězh 7bet-Lietkabelios club continues its selection process for the upcoming season – according to the “1 plus 1” formula, a contract has been signed with Gabrieli Mardunas. Panevězh will start his sixth season at his hometown club.
In the last Betsafe-LKL season, the 31-year-old forward averaged 6.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 8 assists in an average of nearly 20 minutes per game.
In the EuroCup, Mardunas had the best season of his career, scoring 7.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 10.3 utility points in nearly 21 minutes of playing time.
G. Maldūnas joined the Aukštaitija club in 2019. In five years, he contributed many achievements to the club: he won the LKL silver medal, the championship bronze medal four times, the second place in the National Party Championship three times, and the cup bronze medal twice.
G. Maldūnas has not missed a single match in his career. At the end of last season, while playing with Panevěžská, the tall player broke the three hundred mark and became the basketball player with the most appearances in the club’s history (302 games).
Last summer, Panevěž made his debut with the Lithuanian men’s basketball team and played seven games at the World Championships.
