This morning, Macau received heavy rainfall and the authorities issued a yellow rainstorm warning and a thunderstorm warning, and warned residents in low-lying areas of the risk of flooding.

According to the Macau Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (Portuguese abbreviation Submachine gun), a low pressure trough in Guangdong is moving southward, bringing unstable weather.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said it could not rule out the possibility of “severe convective weather” – a meteorological term for thunderstorms – and that thunderstorms and heavy rain were forecast until Thursday.

Residents are advised to pay attention to road safety and weather information, and parents and students should pay attention to the latest news from the education department.

Amid unstable weather, much of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is bracing for unusually high rainfall in the coming weeks.

Meteorologists say the Pearl River Delta region could receive 50 percent more rainfall than usual, and authorities are preparing for another round of flooding in the Beijiang River, a tributary of the Pearl River near Foshan that burst a dam last month, forcing the evacuation of tens of thousands of people.
