Despite the magnitude of the earthquake, which some residents said lasted more than 10 seconds, no major damage was reported. The 6.2 magnitude earthquake is the strongest earthquake ever recorded in Trinidad and Tobago in 2024, surpassing the 5.2 magnitude earthquake reported by the UWI SRC earlier this year.
