TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO (WINN) – A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the coast of Trinidad shortly before midnight on June 22, 2024. According to the University of the West Indies Seismological Research Centre (UWI SRC), the earthquake had a depth of 46 kilometres and its epicenter was located at 10.83 degrees north latitude and 62.37 degrees west longitude.
The tremor was felt in Trinidad. Commenters on the University of the West Indies’ social media page said they heard the sound of the earthquake before feeling it shaking in nearby areas, including St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), Guyana and Grenada.
