It’s coming off the second-worst season in the NBA’s Western Conference (14 wins in 54 games), it’s been without a coach since Jeff Hornacek was fired…and nerves are frayed.
Last Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns lost to the “invincible” Golden State Warriors at home, losing 112-104.
To make matters worse, on the bench, Markieff Morris and Archie Goodwin began arguing and nearly came to blows.
Morris was the most excited and pushed Goodwin into a chair, but his teammates separated them in time.
At the end of the game, Markieff Morris minimized the situation.
“Sometimes younger brothers and older brothers fight. That’s what happened. Wrong place, wrong time,” the power forward said.
The shooting guard also said: “We are a family. This kind of thing happens. I love him like a brother. This is just one of those situations.”
Interim coach Earl Watson didn’t see it as a fight: “It was a shoveling. They’re two of the closest people on the team. They’re like family.”
Who are we to disagree, right?
