Following a hearing on June 5, 2024, the High Communications Council (CSC), in a decision dated June 19, 2024, ordered the online newspaper Lefaso.net to strengthen moderation of its comment forums.
CSC ordered Burkina Faso’s main online media to remove all its media posts titled “ Transition support conference: We don’t want to hear about another president, the one we know is Ibrahim Traoré », published on May 13, 2024.
According to the media regulator, Lefaso.net must also take the necessary measures within one month to strengthen the system of prior review of article forums, which will be the direct responsibility of editorial staff.
Note that the log has not been closed and continues to run normally.
