Kristóf Milák defended his title Thursday at the European Swimming Championships in Belgrade, winning gold in the 100-meter butterfly, while Hubert Kós took silver.

The final was extremely close, with two Hungarian athletes taking second and third place respectively. Even with five meters left in the race, Polish athlete Jakub Majewski was in the lead, but the Olympic silver medalist and Hungarian 200m backstroke world champion both touched the wall early.
Milak won Hungary’s third gold medal at the continental competition in the Serbian capital.
