Saffee Ahmad, a businessman of 123rd Street, Queens, New York and Plot 38, Roraima Community, Versailles, West Demerara, was arrested yesterday by an officer of the Major Crimes Unit and charged with exporting gold without a license.
Police said in a statement today that the accused appeared before Chief Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Diamonds Magistrates Court No. 2 and pleaded not guilty to the offence.
His bail is set at $600,000.
A statement in the case is scheduled for June 24, 2024.
