The Oman Athletics Association (OAA) held the fourth round of the OAA League at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Center on Friday. 230 athletes, including both domestic and foreign athletes, participated in the competitions in different categories.
The OAA league features many events, including the 110m hurdles, long jump, shot put (4kg), javelin, 2,000m steeplechase and hammer throw (5kg).
In the adult 100m race, Mohammed Saadi won first place with a time of 10.43 seconds, Khalid Salah won second place with a time of 10.47 seconds, and national sprinter Barakat Khati won third place with a time of 10.49 seconds.
In the 110m hurdles, Faisal al Azki came first and Nawaf al Azki came second.
In the triple jump final, the national team’s Salim Yarabi won first place with a time of 15.30 (NWI), while Salim Rawahi clocked 15.14 (NWI).
In the hammer throw (7.26 kg), Moubin Kindi won the championship with a personal best of 62.59 meters. In the women’s senior hammer throw (4 kg), Doha Sanawi won the championship, followed by Kalsam Jabri.
In the men’s senior 400m race, Mohammed Mabsaari came first with a time of 48.14 seconds and Val Shadudi came second with a time of 48.59 seconds.
Maryam al Shibli won the women’s 400m title in 1:15.78, while Kazeema al Ansari came in second in 1:22.22.
The purpose of OAA league events is to select athletes for upcoming competitions.
