Albania international Nedim Bajrami has scored the fastest goal in European Championship final history. The 25-year-old from Italian Serie A relegated Sassuolo found the net after 22 seconds during Borussia Dortmund’s qualifier against defending champions Italy.
The fastest goal scored so far in the European Championship was scored by Russian Dmitriy Kirichenko after 67 seconds in a 2-1 win over eventual European champions Greece in a qualifier in 2004. Albania’s first and only goal at the European Championship was scored by Armando Sadiku in a 1-0 win over Romania in 2016.
Bajrami is a household face in Switzerland. The attacking player comes from GC offspring. The Zurich native made his professional debut for the Swiss Record Champions on February 4, 2017. Bajrami also went through all the SFV selection stages but then decided to play in his parents’ homeland as a U21 national team player.
