The Vice President for Economic Affairs of the Taliban government announced the news today on the X social network (formerly Twitter). Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also traveled to Tehran to attend the ceremony.
The next day, Iranian state television broadcast the funeral of Ibrahim Raisi and his companions live, and Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of the extremist organization Hamas, also appeared in the picture.
Hamas is designated a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union.
Sheikh Naim Qassem, a representative of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, was also among the participants in the ceremony.
Slogans of death to Israel were also heard during the ceremony, Radio Azadi’s news center reported.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei performed funeral prayers for Ibrahim Raisi and his companions at a ceremony at Tehran University today.
Former President Ibrahim Raisi and former Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdulhiyan, along with six others, died in a helicopter crash in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province last Sunday.
