Al-Mawaddah launches training course for new mothers

The Family Platform of the Al-Mawaddah Family Development Association, in partnership with the Al-Muhaidib Community Services Foundation, launched the “1000 Days of Motherhood” program, which aims to provide health, social, psychological, educational and family education to new mothers. The project focuses on five basic points: growth, communication, protection, safety and nurturing, and includes six training topics and 42 awareness videos, starting with the pregnancy stage, followed by the prenatal preparation stage, as well as the delivery stage. Through the postpartum stage and breastfeeding, and ending with the mother and nurturing stage. The program belongs to the “Conscious Motherhood Movement” project launched by the association in September last year, participating in 3 awareness-raising exhibitions and publishing 113 awareness-raising infographic publications on social media platforms, with a total of more than 418,000 views.

Mr. Muhammad bin Ali Al Radhi, Director General of Mawaddah Society, explained that the programme falls within the framework of Mawaddah Society’s efforts to develop the educational skills of mothers, both new and previously pregnant, an average of more than 470,000 mothers by 2023. He also praised the programme as comparable to the pregnancy and childbirth programmes offered in the United Kingdom, and there is an urgent need to educate them about the needs of their children at that stage, as we believe that mothers are one of the most important women in society and play an important social role.

Al Radhi also added that at the end of the program, the trainee will have a great impact, including understanding the concept of motherhood, becoming familiar with the importance of motherhood and proper parenting, developing motherhood in all its aspects, understanding herself and how to set her own goals based on an accurate and realistic analysis, and becoming familiar with all aspects of responsibility in Parenting, which will help her in fulfilling her duties as a mother in her journey to motherhood.

Require mandatory training for new mothers through educational videos

Al Radhi concluded by asking the Ministry of Health to make the program mandatory before the due date and even in the first months of pregnancy, which will have a huge impact, God willing, by reducing the chances of miscarriage due to lack of awareness, and also because it will have a positive impact on increasing awareness of the labor and delivery phase, better ability to overcome the postpartum depression phase, which will have a positive impact on the psychology of mothers during the postpartum and child-rearing phases.

Continuously improve the quality of family life through the family platform

The Family Platform is a non-profit e-platform that aims to improve the quality of family life through a series of free family training courses, from choosing a life partner to preparing for marriage, the platform also provides a set of family psychometric tests and awareness content for all family members throughout the family community. By 2024, the platform aims to train more than 19,000 male and female trainees for all family members and social classes. A team of elite experts in the field contributes to the design of the Family Platform project and measurement tests in family, sociology and psychology.
