The Irish Tamil Democratic Front (ITAK) has decided to support the presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa of the alliance led by Samagi Jana Balawegaya in the upcoming presidential election.
Tamil National Congress MP MA Sumanthiran announced the decision at a press conference held today (01).
MP Sumanthiran said the decision was taken at the party’s central committee meeting.
ITAK is considered the main party of the Tamil National Alliance.
Meanwhile, ITAK has also reportedly agreed not to support Tamil co-candidate P. Ariyanenthiran.
The ITAK Central Committee has decided to ask Aliyan Ntilan not to participate in the 2024 presidential election.
