(AP) Stephen Curry has signed a one-year contract extension with the Golden State Warriors that will begin in the 2026-27 season and pay the NBA’s all-time 3-point leader and Olympic gold medalist nearly $63 million.
The team announced the signing on Thursday. ESPN first reported the deal, and Curry’s agent, Jeff Austin of Octagon, later confirmed it to The Associated Press.
Curry is now guaranteed about $178 million in salary over the next three seasons: about $55.8 million this season, about $59.6 million in 2025-26 and about $62.6 million in 2026-27 — the maximum the Warriors can offer under league rules.
When that season ends, Curry’s on-court earnings will total approximately $532 million, currently ranking second in NBA history, behind only LeBron James’ $580 million player contract.
Curry, 36, is entering his 16th NBA season, all of which he has played for the Warriors. He is a 10-time All-Star, 10-time All-NBA selection, four-time champion and two-time MVP with the Golden State Warriors. This summer, he also won the gold medal with the United States at the Paris Olympics, with a brilliant fourth-quarter performance to help the United States beat France in the championship game.
He averaged 26.4 points per game for the Warriors last season and has a career regular season average of 24.8 points per game.
