GUYANA (Demerara Wave) – The United States Southern Command conducted Joint Exercises and Training (JCET) as part of the ongoing strong military partnership between the United States and Guyana, the US Embassy said on Thursday.
“While in Guyana, the U.S. Southern Command team conducted jungle warfare training with the Guyana Defense Force team, focusing on tactics, techniques and procedures,” the U.S. mission said in a statement.
The JCET was held from July 29 to August 26 and was conducted in close coordination with the Guyana Defence Force (GDF).
The U.S. Embassy said U.S. Southern Command regularly conducts similar activities and exchanges with defense partners and allies in the region and around the world.
