Calgary Water Mains: Update shows water usage slowing

Residents reduced their water usage again Wednesday, the city’s website shows, but still fell short of the goal officials say will prevent serious problems with Calgary’s water supply.

According to the City of Calgary website, 494 million litres of water were consumed on Wednesday, which is still 44 million litres more than officials would like to see.

This is the third day in a row Excessive use of water The restrictions have been in place since 12:01 a.m. Monday.

Water use on Tuesday was 497 million litres, bringing Monday’s total to 533 million litres.

City officials are expected to give another update Thursday afternoon on the progress of repairs on Calgary’s Bearspaw Branch Line.
