Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaki arrived in Cameroon on Tuesday.

Taliban Foreign Ministry Deputy Spokesperson Zia Ahmed Takkar posted on X (former Twitter) that Mottaki was in Cameroon to attend the 50th OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

The meeting is expected to be held on Thursday and Friday, 8th and 9th of Sabri.

Thakur added that the Taliban’s acting foreign minister will also hold bilateral meetings with Cameroonian officials and representatives of some OIC member states on the sidelines of the conference.

In a resolution in May, foreign ministers from the group’s member states called on the Taliban government to respect human rights, especially the rights of girls and women to education and work.

This follows a visit by an OIC delegation to Kabul in April where they met with Taliban officials and stressed the need to ensure the fundamental rights of Afghan women.
