Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane received the European Golden Shoe at a ceremony held on the same day.
The award is given to the top scorer in European football in the previous season. Kane scored 36 goals in his first season at Bayern Munich.
The 31-year-old is the first English striker to win the Golden Boot since Kevin Phillips in 2000. On the other hand, he is the third player from Bayern Munich to win the award after Gerd Muller and Robert Lewandowski.
“Obviously, coming to Bayern Munich is a big step in my career. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. I’m enjoying every moment so far.”, Kane said.
Lionel Messi is the only player to have won the Golden Boot six times, while Cristiano Ronaldo has won it four times. Erling Haaland was the last winner before Kane.
