On Wednesday (August 28), the Ansar Forces Commander-in-Chief handed over a cheque of Tk 700,000 to Waheed’s family at the Ansar-e-PDP headquarters.
Waheed drowned while distributing relief to flood victims in Fulgazi Upazila, Feni on August 24. The house of the slain Ansar member is located in Fulgazi Upazila, Feni district. Waheed was working as an assistant staff member of the Brahmanbaria Ashuganj Power Station Company.
He was trying to help flood victims while on vacation at his home in Feni on August 20. On August 24, he fell from a boat while distributing relief supplies to flood victims along with local volunteers and drowned in a strong current.
Rescuers were unable to rescue him at the time, but locals found his body a day later and handed it over to his family.
