Hilton Hotels Corporation today announced that it has signed agreements with Qatar Asset Group for two properties on Carifesta Avenue, marking the company’s continued advancement of its projects on Caribbean Avenue.

Hilton Georgetown and DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Georgetown mark Hilton’s first foray into the U.S. market

GEORGETOWN, Guyana and MIAMI – August 28, 2024 – Today, Hilton (NYSE: HLT) announced the signing of the dual-branded Hilton Georgetown and DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Georgetown as the company’s first hotels in Guyana. Owned by an affiliate of Assets Group and managed by Hilton, the 411-room hotels will be part of a mixed-use commercial and entertainment complex on the waterfront of the nation’s capital. With this strategic signing, Hilton continues its rapid expansion in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region, where the company now has more than 225 open hotels welcoming guests.

Conveniently located in the heart of Georgetown, where the Demerara River meets the Atlantic Ocean, the Hilton Georgetown and DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Georgetown are within easy reach of nearby embassies, businesses and a variety of recreational options, including scenic national parks and historic sites, and approximately six miles from Ogle International Airport. The two hotels will offer shared spaces and amenities while providing a unique hotel-only experience in a shared location.

The new 11-story Hilton Georgetown will offer a premium accommodation experience with 253 guest rooms and suites and a range of vibrant spaces, including a striking lobby bar and signature restaurant, serving a locally inspired menu and handcrafted cocktails. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor pool with all-day dining.

The new DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Georgetown will offer 158 contemporary suites where guests can relax, connect and feel at home. The hotel will allow guests to experience the brand’s moments during their stay, complete with the brand’s signature warm DoubleTree chocolate chip cookies.

The social club will also offer a unique dining experience, including two full-service dining venues, two bars and a coffee and bakery, open to guests, members and locals.

The complex also features a state-of-the-art conference center with a 25,900 square foot ballroom and 10,800 square feet of meeting rooms, making the hotel an ideal venue for conferences, incentives, meetings and events. Hilton’s entry into Guyana is a result of rapid growth in the Caribbean and Latin America. Over the past decade, Hilton has tripled in size in the region, adding nine new countries and regions and launching seven new brands. With more than 225 hotels open and more than 170 hotels, Hilton plans to enter eight new countries and regions in the region in the next few years, including Bermuda and Paraguay in 2024 and Guyana in 2027.
