At the 17th World Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics held in Vassouras, Brazil, a five-member team from the Islamic Republic of Iran participated, and the winners included Aria Tidari, Arvin Rasulzadeh, Hananeh Khorramdashti, Mohammad Mehdi Kavsari and Ali Naderi. Rodjani, led by Hussein Haji, Arman Vatikzadeh and Amir Hossein Mousavi, won the world’s first place with five gold medals, becoming another shining star in the field of scientific knowledge.
250 students from 53 countries participated in the competition, followed by Iran, the United States, Romania, Canada, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Germany, Hungary, India and Thailand.
At the 2023 tournament, hosted by Poland last year, Iran won three gold medals and two silver medals, finishing third behind England and India.
