Findel Airport was temporarily closed on Wednesday morning due to runway damage, but was expected to reopen at 2:30 p.m. after emergency repairs.
Findel Airport was closed at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday due to a hole in the runway. After emergency repairs, the de Havilland Q400 small aircraft was back in service by noon.
However, Luxembourg Airlines’ Oslo flights were cancelled and some of its other flights were also suspended.
In response to a query from RTL.lu colleagues, Luxair advises passengers to proceed to Findel Airport as normal. The airline said flights will resume as soon as the runway is operational again.
Luxembourg Airport officials later confirmed that repair work was expected to be completed by 2:30 p.m.
Flights currently affected by delays include destinations such as Tenerife, La Palma, Barcelona, Porto, Rome, Vienna, Prague, Venice, Copenhagen and Cagliari.
