PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The United Nations Secretary-General has asked Pakistan to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the recent terrorist attacks in the southwestern province of Balochistan.
Antonio Guterres also urged Islamabad to bring the perpetrators of Monday’s deadly attack to justice, his spokesman told reporters in New York on Tuesday.
Stephane Dujarric said the UN Secretary-General strongly condemned the August 26 attack, which left dozens dead and injured.
“The secretary-general stressed that attacks against civilians are unacceptable and expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” Dujarric was quoted as saying by Dawn newspaper.
Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) fighters launched multiple attacks across the province on Monday morning, targeting security forces and civilians, especially passengers from Punjab.
