This year’s participants come from countries across the region as well as Austria and the United Kingdom, with 25 teams competing for a prize of €10,000.
The organizer of the event, Marin Zelenika, secretary of the cross-country club HercegProTeam, earlier told Fena that this is the only cross-country race in the region with such a large prize pool.
Today, the competitors will kick off with a round-robin race where riders will compete for starting positions for the next stage, and there will also be a night ride tonight. On Friday, there will be an orienteering race on mountain and forest terrain, while on Saturday at 3pm, a loop race will take place around Blidinjski jezera.
On the final day on Sunday, a special test will be given to the contestants, after which the winners will be announced and their prizes will be awarded.
On Saturday night, there will be an after-party with performances by DJ Leo and the Lexus Band, as well as a raffle with the main prize being an ATV.
Organizers expect this year’s “Blidinje Challenge” to attract thousands of participants.
