It is a milestone for Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) and the Sir Brian Bell Foundation, which is the main sponsor of the series.

Anne-Sophie Hermann, Vice Chairman and Founder of BbP said: “We are grateful to the Sir Brian Bell Foundation and CEO Bronwyn Wright for believing in the importance of this series and sponsoring our printing and shipping costs. Many thanks to all our partners for their support in creating the WIGU series for children in Papua New Guinea.”

For many children, she said, the books offer valuable opportunities to learn about careers they might want to pursue when they grow up.

Herman said the WIGU series of courses also includes courses on financial literacy, Papua New Guinean culture, history, science, design, health awareness, environmental science, agriculture, animal welfare and wildlife conservation, which all help to enrich students’ overall knowledge.
