He added that some decisions made then “with the benefit of hindsight and new information” would not be made by Meta today.
“As I told our team at the time, I firmly believe that we should not compromise our content standards in response to pressure from any government in any direction. If something like this happens again, we are ready to fight back.” he added.
Zuckerberg said in the letter that Meta’s goal is to “promote free expression and help people connect in safe ways.”
A year ago, Zuckerberg had to provide the committee with thousands of documents as part of an investigation into content moderation on online platforms.
