Faizabad (Pajhwok): Some culturalists said they are unable to print their works due to lack of funds in the northeastern province of Badakhshan.

These culturalists demanded that the government set up a committee and give it financial powers to publish poetry and prose works and promote their cultural and literary works.

Culturalist Abdul Wasil Latifi, who witnessed a number of cultural festivals and events organized by the Ministry of Information and Culture, said the province has done a good job in this regard, but it is not enough to simply launch cultural projects.

Latifi described printing works as an important activity in the field of culture and literature and said the government should set up a committee with material and spiritual capabilities to promote the development and enrichment of culture and literature by printing the works of poets and writers after review.

He said the local government has set up a committee to support poets, cultural figures and writers. More than 16 works have been published in the fields of poetry, prose, history, literature, culture, journalism, experimental science and other sciences.

Another writer, Dr. Abdul Kader Bulan, who said he has published 20 works and has four more ready to be published, said cultural officials encourage young people when they want to organize poetry competitions and cultural gatherings.

He said that over the past three years, we have carried out activities such as work releases, poetry competitions, and cultural gatherings.

“As a cultural scientist and writer, I participate in these projects, but unfortunately, due to the lack of personal facilities and budget, writers are unable to perfect our research plans and prepare works for publication”.

According to him, his work “Badakhshan Turks” has successfully passed the review of the Academy of Sciences, and the typing and writing of four other works including “Mental Health” have been completed. No one has ever disturbed him during the research, but the main problem is lack of funds.

Bulan requested the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to provide them with financial assistance.

“Indeed, our works have been placed in Taaq-e-Nasian”.

The Ministry of Information and Culture organizes some cultural events, but it is not enough, explains Farid Daneshwar, a young poet, three of his works have been printed and the fourth should be embellished with prints.

Daneshwar asked the department to allocate more budget to Badakhshan province for carrying out cultural projects.

He also asked cultural figures to work with the department to form an association of poets and writers so that they can share their problems with the authorities.

At the same time, the cultural department, in consultation with cultural experts and writers at the central and regional levels, launched a number of cultural projects, art exhibitions and poetry competitions, which received attention from the public and cultural experts, added Engineer Zabiullah Amiri.

While acknowledging that authors are ready to publish scientific works in various fields of research and culture, he said requests from cultural workers to set up committees and writers’ associations should be submitted to the ministry in written form so that they can be shared with competent authorities.
