According to the Lukashenko press service, on August 26, Lukashenko signed Decree No. 335 “On the provision of cellular mobile telecommunications services.”
“To increase the availability of cellular communications, including in rural areas,<...>It has been decided to set mandatory requirements for the quality of service and coverage provided by cellular operators, and if these requirements are violated, cellular communications will be cancelled. Operators will be held accountable,” the message said.
Therefore, cellular operators will need to invest part of their profits in building new towers, modernizing existing facilities, and other measures to develop cellular networks, which will increase coverage and signal stability.
In addition, it is planned to introduce a universal basic social tariff, the cost of which will be controlled by the state and will apply to all categories of citizens.
