Ibrahim Khalil, public relations officer at Chittagong Airport, said Ansar members have been protesting since August 22. Since then, they have not come to work. In this situation, the airport’s own security wing officer employees (Evsec) have kept it functioning by rescheduling and in some cases performing additional duties by working in double shifts.
He also said that the Bangladesh Air Force members have been given the responsibility of security on the land side, apron area and surrounding areas. They are accompanied by 75 members of the Ansar Battalion and members of the Armed Police.
