WestProp Officially Launches $280 Million Hills Luxury Golf Estate
Business Reporter – West Properties Private Limited (WestProp) has officially launched the construction of its ambitious $280 million Hills Luxury Golf Estate project.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa led a high-level government delegation at the groundbreaking ceremony last Friday, demonstrating the private sector’s confidence in the economic policies of the Second Republic.

The President, speaking at the event, lauded the visionary leadership of WestProp CEO Ken Sharpe, who continues to invest in Zimbabwe’s economy, particularly in the areas of housing and human settlement development.
President Mnangagwa said:
“This project is not just about building houses, but about creating sustainable and functional human settlements,” the official said at the ceremony. “The Hills Luxury Golf Estate is a signature project in our ongoing efforts to promote Zimbabwe as a destination of choice and it will contribute significantly to the realisation of our National Vision 2030.”
The project forms part of WestProp’s wider goal to lay “a billion bricks” in Zimbabwe, contributing to the country’s housing stock and in line with Sustainable Development Goal 11, which focuses on sustainable cities and communities.
The estate’s design incorporates green technology and building certification best practices, reflecting a commitment to the global green economy agenda and climate change mitigation.
The President stressed that the partnership between WestProp and the City of Harare was an example of public-private partnership.

The project is expected to enhance Harare’s status as a world-class city and urge the local government to enhance services and ensure the city is clean and maintained.
President Mnangagwa added:
“Projects such as the Hills Luxury Golf Estate are vital in driving our development agenda as we move towards Vision 2030. They symbolise the hard work and dedication of the Zimbabwean people in building our country brick by brick,” the official said.
Described as a “lifestyle development philosophy” project, The Hills Luxury Golf Estate will include more than 862 residential units and accommodate approximately 4,310 people.
The estate will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including tennis and swimming academies, a gymnasium and a golf course, in line with a global trend in urban developments.
Hills Luxury Golf Estate is expected to set new standards in the Zimbabwean real estate sector, attracting national and international attention, particularly from the sports and tourism sectors.
The estate, which features world-class facilities, is expected to attract professional golfers and other athletes to Zimbabwe, further raising the country’s profile on the global stage.
The President reiterated the government’s support for private sector-led initiatives, stressing that such projects are vital to the modernisation and industrialisation of Zimbabwe.
The Hills luxury golf estate is now officially open, marking a major milestone in the country’s ongoing urban transformation.
