Colombian Essequibo Coast businessman Haimant Chowtie, aka “Two Leaf,” and his family were robbed last weekend, losing cash and jewelry.
Three men entered his residence while he was on vacation with his family.
The incident took place between 3pm on Saturday, August 24, and 1:50am yesterday. Reports indicate that the businessman asked a close relative to check on his property and around that time, his son remotely checked the house’s CCTV cameras and found them off. He informed the visiting relative and discovered that the house had been broken into and ransacked.
The stolen items reportedly included two diamond rings valued at $5 million, eight watches valued at $8.5 million, four gold chains valued at $1 million, diamond pendants and earrings valued at $1.5 million, 12 bottles of perfume valued at $900,000, $10 million and $7,000.
Police are believed to have obtained CCTV footage showing three men carrying out the act. Two men have been detained. Investigations are continuing.
