On Friday night, the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, was packed with fans eagerly awaiting the return of reggae/dancehall legend Buju Patton.
It was an unforgettable night and the fans were not disappointed at all. This was Buju Banton’s third time performing in the United States since 2008 and he reminded everyone why he is known as “Gargamel” and is hailed as the best dancehall reggae artist in the world.
A magical night
Fans from all over the United States and even overseas flocked to the stage, ready to experience Buju’s powerful energy and mesmerizing stage presence.
Clarence Seed, who travelled from Chicago with his girlfriend, couldn’t contain his excitement. “I’ve been listening to Buju since I was a kid, but I’ve never seen him perform in person. This will be one of the biggest accomplishments on my bucket list,” he shared, clearly excited about the experience.
Earnhardt Miller, who travelled from London with his wife Janet, echoed the sentiment. “When I heard he was going on tour, I told my wife it was a must! This was definitely one of the best times we’ve ever had together. I’m going to treasure this moment,” he said happily.

Excellent performance
The evening kicked off with a passionate performance by Haitian star Francis “Fridayy” LeBlanc, which thrilled the audience, and the anticipation reached a climax when the Shiloh Band took the stage.
For the next 90 minutes, Buju Banton delivered a masterclass as he rocked the stage with hit after hit from his extensive repertoire. The audience was on their feet the entire time, dancing and singing along to every song.
Adding to the magic of the evening were special guests including Buju’s long-time friends and fellow musicians Wayne Wonder, Gramps Morgan and DJ Khaled, who each brought their own twist to the show, adding to the already electrifying atmosphere and making it an unforgettable experience for everyone present.

This performance marks Buju Banton Overcomer Tour First Stop The band’s US show follows two consecutive sold-out shows at New York’s UBS Arena last month.
The tour continues tomorrow in Tampa before heading to Five other cities across the country.
