Cash shortage slows projects, but not cancels them – Masimega

Finance Ministry permanent secretary Olesitse Masimega insisted this week that there would be no “pause” on any government tenders as earlier reported.Sunday Standard.

In a press statementSunday Standard“It is worth mentioning that the government has decided that while projects can be tendered, the pace of awarding decisions should be slowed down (which does not equate to cancelling tenders) until the revenue situation improves. Rationalization of approved budgets is normal in situations where revenue is severely constrained and revenue cannot match outflows,” explained Masimega.
