Kuwait, June 11: The Kuwait national football team on Tuesday officially qualified for the 2027 Asian Cup, which includes the third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup. With relentless efforts and strategic play, the Kuwait team won a stunning 1-0 victory over Afghanistan in Group A of the Asian qualifiers and deservedly secured the second place.
India lost to Qatar 1-2, while Kuwait qualified. Kuwait finished second with 7 points, behind group leaders Qatar, which had 16 points.
The match was held at the Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium. In the first half, both teams were cautious and did not attack often. Kuwait attacked cautiously, while Afghanistan defended steadily.

The Kuwait national team successfully defended its lead until the end of the game, taking all three points and securing its qualification for the Asian Cup finals for the 11th time, as well as advancing to the World Cup qualifying finals.
The final ranking of Group 1 is: Qatar ranks first with 16 points, Kuwait ranks second with 7 points, India ranks third with 5 points, and Afghanistan ranks fourth with 5 points. (Kuwait News Agency) –
