The weak state of the Swedish economy has been worrying Estonian exporters for years. Can we finally expect signs of improvement in Sweden? We discuss this topic with Tiina Tuis, Head of Regional Markets at EAS.
Denim Dream recently opened its new headquarters in the city of Saue. We spoke to Heinar Põldma, owner of Põldma Kaubandus, about how the new building came to be and the current state of the fashion trade in Estonia.
We discussed with Food Union President Sirje Potissepa the export capabilities of the Estonian food industry and whether more emphasis should be placed on more distant target markets in addition to EU countries.

11.00-12.00 “Hot Seat”. Startup investors have been spooked by some bad news lately: Digital Sputnik, a maker of lighting solutions for the film and television industry, declared bankruptcy, and South African car rental company Planet42 filed for restructuring.
In the show, we discuss what these cases show and how investors and fundraisers evaluate the state and prospects of the startup industry. Gerri Kodres, founding partner of venture capital fund Specialist VC, and Allan Martinson, president of the Founders Association, visit. The show is hosted by Christian Kuerger.
12.00-13.00 “PwC Management”. The changing world constantly subjects companies to new tasks. As a result of the CER Directive, some companies must assess their business continuity and crisis preparedness as one of their new obligations.
Triin Toiteja, senior consultant in the area of crisis preparedness and continuity at PwC, explains in the content marketing program what the Essential Events Act means and how many companies will have additional obligations. The program is hosted by Juuli Nemvalts.
13.00-14.00 “Business and Technology”. We will discuss the current state of ICT education in Estonia with Ingrid Pappel, Vice Dean of Master’s Programs at the Faculty of Information Technology at Tallinn University of Technology.
Many people believe that university education is not important in this field, but experience is. What value does a Master’s degree in IT provide to employees and employers? What other learning opportunities does TalTech offer adult learners? How can IT teachers cooperate with businesses? All this is already on the show. The show is hosted by Indrek Kald.
15.00-16.00 “The Melting Pot”. In the show, Rinel Pius, CEO of SOL Baltics, first talked about what to do when you don’t feel like driving or doing anything. In the second half of the show, Argo Rannamets, CFO of the Ekspress Group, talked about how company managers contribute to strengthening internal motivation for all employees and why his role as a mentor is useful.
