Christoph Dohm, a German coach who was quite famous in Turkey and had coached major clubs such as Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş and Bursaspor, has passed away.
Dom, 70, has been undergoing treatment for cancer for some time.
Umit Ozat, a former football player and coach who worked for Fenerbahce and Cologne, announced Daum’s death on his social media accounts.
Ozart said in the post, “I just received the news that my teacher Daum passed away. I don’t know what to say. Thank you for your contribution to me. May your soul rest in peace, rest in peace.”

Christoph Paul Daum was born in Ersnitz, Erzgeb, East Germany on October 24, 1953. Daum started playing football in 1971 with Sportfreunde Hamborn 07 and moved to Cologne II in 1975, when he was 22 years old.
After Daum won the German Amateur Championship in 1981, he ended his football career at the end of that season at the age of 28.
After obtaining his technical director’s license, he started working as an amateur in 1981. He won league titles in Turkey and Austria. During his coaching career, he led the team three times but lost the title in the final weeks.
He lost the title with Leverkusen in the 1999-2000 season, and with Fenerbahce in the 2005-2006 and 2009-2010 seasons, only to get points in the last week.
Christoph Daum worked in Turkey for many years, winning titles with Fenerbahce and Besiktas. The last time the coach coached Bursaspor was in Turkey.
