When the 2,492-carat gem was revealed, he exclaimed: “God is merciful.”
Canadian mining company Lucara discovered the diamond at the Calloway Diamond Mine.
The world’s largest gemstone weighs 3,106 carats and was discovered in South Africa in 1905.
