Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is launching a promotional campaign in St. Petersburg to attract more Russian tourists to the Sultanate of Oman
The number of Russian tourists visiting the Sultanate will increase by 300% to 53,145 by 2023, from 13,000 in 2022.
The promotion aims to create an interactive promotional platform for Omani tourism companies and agencies with their Russian counterparts, thereby strengthening their influence in the world’s major tourism market.
Notably, the top five nationalities visiting the Sultanate are GCC nationals, Indians, Germans, Yemenis and Italians.
The Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism organised promotion seminars on Monday in Moscow and St Petersburg, with the participation of 20 Omani tourism agencies.
The seminar included bilateral meetings, bringing together the main hotels, travel companies and airlines of the Sultanate of Oman with representatives of the largest and most important Russian travel companies, tour operators and tour operators.
