August 23, 2024 (Juba) – South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir on Friday directed the newly appointed Minister of Presidential Affairs to establish positive working relations with other government institutions.
Kiir made the remarks at the swearing-in ceremony of Joel Mawut Ajongo, marking a significant moment in his administration.
The President expressed confidence in Ajongo’s abilities, noting that he has experience as an ambassador. He stressed that the Minister of Presidential Affairs plays a key role in coordinating policy initiatives and communication between the Presidency and other government departments, especially as the country prepares for the upcoming elections.
Ajongo, who previously served as South Sudan’s ambassador to Kenya, welcomed his new post and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.
Central Equatoria State Deputy Governor Paulino Lukudu Obede was also sworn in.
