The National University of Tonga wins the 2024 USP Tonga Campus Debate Competition

The National University of Tonga (TNU) has won the 2024 University of the South Pacific (USP) Tonga Campus Debating Championship.

Mr Viliami Tei, Marketing Manager of Tonga Communications Company (TCC), presented the US$1,000 prize to the TNU team sponsored by TCC.

The Tonga College Atle Campus team won the second place in the competition, while the University of the South Pacific Tonga Campus team won the third place.

The event also recognized the valuable contributions of all participating schools and received special support from BSP Financial Group Berhad.

Dr Robin Hawea, Director of the University of the South Pacific Tonga Campus, stressed the importance of such programmes in developing Tongan youth, stressing that such initiatives are vital to the country’s development and future.

The continued support from corporations such as TCC and BSP Financial Group Inc. has been instrumental in sustaining these educational activities.
