In a phone call with French Foreign Minister Sehoné, Araghchi said Iran is willing to expand its constructive relations with France.

He referred to the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime in the Palestinian territories and called on France and Western countries to focus on the regime as the culprit for the ongoing war.

Iran’s top diplomat said the Israeli regime’s assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last month violated Iran’s territorial integrity.

He further noted that Iran reserves the right to respond to Israeli terrorist acts.

He congratulated Araghchi on his appointment as Iran’s new Foreign Minister and expressed Iran’s willingness to continue diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran at the mutual, regional and international levels.

He stressed the need to negotiate a ceasefire with the warring parties in the Gaza Strip in order to ease tensions and achieve peace.
