Cambodia on August 22 welcomed the return of a batch of smuggled Buddhist and Hindu statues to an American collector and museum.

In recent years, the Kingdom has worked closely with U.S. officials to secure the return of hundreds of valuable cultural artifacts, many of which were stolen and illegally exported.
The latest return includes 70 Khmer artifacts, including stone statues of mythical warriors from the Hindu epic Mahabharata, stone statues of gods such as Shiva and Uma, and bronze heads.
