Daryl Hall’s concert at PNE closed due to coronavirus, ended after three songs

Daryl Hall walked off the stage just three songs into his solo show at the PNE Expo on Wednesday night because he felt ill.

Hall’s agent, Jonathan Wolfson, later said Hall had tested positive for COVID and canceled Friday’s performance at the Albertsons Boise Open in Idaho.

“Daryl is deeply saddened by the cancellation and thanks the many concerned fans for their well wishes,” Wolfson said in a statement.

PNE spokeswoman Laura Ballance said Hall tried to perform in the PNE Fair Summer Nights concert series, but “he was not feeling well and was unable to return to the stage.

“He wanted to let his Vancouver fans know how sad he was and that he was looking forward to returning to Vancouver soon,” Ballance said. “I know the PNE and all of his fans in British Columbia are sending him their best wishes for a speedy recovery.”

Ballance said all ticket holders will receive a full refund according to their original form of payment.

Hall, 77, is known for his hits with Philadelphia soul veteran John Oates in the 1980s and 1990s, as well as his solo career. He entered the concert lineup after 1970s punk new wave rock band Blondie canceled a series of shows, including a trip to Vancouver.
