KUWAIT CITY, August 22: The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy released a statistical report for July showing that the ministry imported 415.144 MW of electricity from the Gulf Interconnection Network, an average of 500 MW per day. According to the report, the highest electricity load in the history of the ministry was recorded at 17,360 MW on Saturday, July 13, while the lowest load was recorded at 11,880 MW on July 5.
The highest net freshwater consumption was on July 18, reaching 504,383,000 imperial gallons, while the lowest was on July 16, reaching 481,405,000 imperial gallons. At the same time, the report also pointed out that the power sector distributed electricity to 726 customers during the month, with a total power generation of 96,379.240 kilowatts. Among the electricity distributed, the largest number of customers were in the private residential sector, with 674 customers, followed by 20 customers in the industrial sector; 11 customers in the agricultural sector; 10 customers in the investment sector; 7 customers in the government sector; and 4 customers in the commercial sector.
In July, the ministry added 804 Kuwaiti employees, bringing the total number of employees to 35,145 from 34,341 in June. Currently, Kuwaiti employees account for 97.6% of the total number of employees in the ministry. In addition, the ministry announced the launch of electricity services in Mutrah Residential City, N4 District, covering parts of Blocks 2 and 3, in cooperation with the Public Housing Benefits Authority. The ministry will now receive requests to connect electricity to 870 plots.
