The tournament was officially opened by the President of the Neum City Council, Daniela Matić, who said that the club is a symbol of Neum and that she is proud of the boys and girls who have achieved great results, while also preserving the sporting heritage of Neum as the memory of the late Ivica Bacic.
She also thanked the club’s management for their hard work and said they always have the support and backing of the Neum Municipality.
Chairman of HVK Jadran Neum Ivan Lakić also addressed the audience, who greeted everyone present and expressed satisfaction with the holding of the fourth World Cup. According to the order of the “Ivica Bačić” Memorial Tournament.
Rakic also thanked the Neum Municipality, the Mayor and the Chairman of the Municipal Council for their cooperation and support in the operation of HVK Jadran, noting that this is his last term as the club’s president, but he will remain in the club because he himself is one of the founders of water polo, I don’t understand.
The eight teams participating in the tournament were divided into two groups: YBL, Slavia Prag, Leotar, Osijek, Vukovar, Siscia, Cezch R and hosts Jadran Neum.
The Neum City Government announced that the competition is part of this year’s “Neum Summer 2024” event and will last until August 24.
